2025 Edition
Mons is enriched by a new must-attend event, further strengthening its status as a top destination in Belgium. MONS EN LUMIÈRES returns for its second edition from January 30 to February 2 and from February 6 to 9, 2025, immersing visitors in a captivating light-filled journey. Funded by European grants, this free event celebrates the theme “Between earth and sky” with a 3 km route featuring 22 spectacular light installations.
Designed to magnify the historic heart of Mons, MONS EN LUMIÈRES 2025 offers a unique opportunity to rediscover Mons’ heritage through impressive works, including those by the famous Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, which will captivate and amaze all visitors.
Theme: Between earth and sky.
Guest artist : Tadashi Kawamata, a renowned Japanese artist, is known for his monumental installations created from recycled materials. Through his works, he invites visitors to an immersive and introspective experience, reconnecting them with nature. His contribution to Mons en Lumières highlights the fragility of our environment and the importance of its preservation, while transforming the city’s spaces into a poetic dialogue between earth and sky.
