A SUSTAINABLE AND ACCESSIBLE FESTIVAL

Since its inception, Mons en Lumières has been committed to creating an event that is responsible, inclusive and exemplary, where art and celebration go hand in hand with respect for the environment and for everyone.

An eco-responsible commitment

Since its first edition, the City of Mons has continued to implement concrete measures to reduce the festival’s environmental footprint.
The installations favour low-energy LED lighting, recyclable materials wherever possible, a reduction in printing to what is strictly necessary and the greenest possible energy supply.

Signage, printed materials and logistics are designed with reuse and waste reduction in mind, while technical partners are made aware of good sustainable practices.
This approach is part of the desire to make Mons en Lumières an exemplary event, where creativity and responsibility go hand in hand.

An experience accessible to all

Mons en Lumières makes it a point of honour to offer a memorable experience that is open to all, especially people with disabilities.

The festival has been Access-i certified since 2024, official recognition of optimised accessibility and a welcome adapted to the diversity of visitors.

In partnership with Access-i and the Plain-Pied association, the route has been redesigned to ensure smooth movement and safety for everyone.
