The entire Mons en Lumières program
It’s going to be a warm winter in Mons! At the start of 2024, the cultural capital of Wallonia is creating a stir with the biggest winter event in the south of the country: “Mons en Lumières”, the very first festival of lights in Wallonia. Never seen!
For 8 evenings, from January 25 to 28 and February 1 to 4, the historic and medieval center of Mons will be sublimated by art and light, thanks to a 3 km route dotted with 25 installations. For this first edition, and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, the route will focus on Surrealism and poetry. The festival will also feature a guest star: Scottish artist Robert Montgomery. Wonder and memories guaranteed!
“Mons en Lumières” is a nationwide event, with extensive resources to offer visitors a truly unique experience.
A fascinating itinerary has been designed to accommodate 26 carefully crafted light installations and projections, which will blend harmoniously into the urban setting and architecture of the historic center.
Accessible to all and entirely free of charge, the route highlights local, national and international talent. The light installations and spellbinding projections are designed in synergy with the artists, local and regional businesses, local residents and the general public.
